Empowering Artists, Contractors, and Residents to Reimagine Our City
A Creative Solution to Urban Blight
Many signs and awnings across our cities have aged poorly, becoming eyesores or even safety hazards. But instead of just removing the old—we can create something new, beautiful, and community-driven.
That’s where volunteer-driven beautification campaigns come in.
How It Works
Step 1: Community Art Contest
Local organizations or city departments host public calls for artwork proposals. Local artists submit designs for revitalizing faded signs, abandoned storefronts, or blank awning canvases.
Step 2: Judging & Recognition
A panel of artists, city planners, business owners, and residents select the best submissions. Winners receive recognition, small prizes, or mural opportunities.
Step 3: Professional Installation
Licensed contractors—such as C-45 ELECTRICAL SIGNS, C-61/D-03 AWNINGS, or C-61/D-42 NON-ELECTRICAL SIGN INSTALLATION—are invited to submit bids to fabricate and install the selected works.
Why This Matters
• Beautifies neighborhoods with vibrant, meaningful artwork
